North Carolina Litigation and Injury Attorney

Litigation Is Personal

When a person is injured, when a product fails, or when a dispute threatens a business, a person’s livelihood, or peace of mind, the law is no longer an abstract system. It becomes human. And in those moments, people need more than technical answers. They need judgment. They need steadiness. They need an attorney who can think clearly, speak plainly, and move a case forward with purpose.

That is the foundation of Hodges Law.

Hodges Law is a spirited and thoughtful civil litigation firm built on the belief that good lawyering is not about noise or theatrics. It is about clarity, preparation, and conviction. It is about understanding both the facts and the people behind them. And it is about giving clients the confidence that their case is being handled with care, intelligence, and determination.

As a small firm, Hodges Law offers something many clients are looking for but do not always find: direct attention, real accessibility, and a genuine investment in the outcome. Clients are not passed from person to person or treated like a file number in a large system. They work with a lawyer who knows the details, understands the stakes, and remains engaged from beginning to end.

The firm’s practice centers on civil litigation, product liability, and personal injury.

In civil litigation matters, Hodges Law represents clients in serious disputes that require strategic thinking and disciplined advocacy. Litigation can be disruptive, stressful, and expensive. It demands more than aggression; it demands judgment. A good litigator must know when to press, when to narrow the issues, when to negotiate, and when to take a matter all the way to trial. Hodges Law approaches each case with that balance in mind, always focused on protecting the client’s interests while pursuing a practical and effective path forward.

In product liability cases, Hodges Law stands with individuals who have been harmed by dangerous or defective products. These cases often involve powerful corporations, complicated medical or technical issues, and a great deal of resistance. They also matter deeply. Consumers have the right to expect that the products placed into the stream of commerce are reasonably safe. When that trust is broken and people suffer the consequences, accountability matters. Hodges Law is committed to pursuing that accountability with rigor and persistence.

In personal injury matters, the firm represents people whose lives have been disrupted by the negligence of others. A serious injury can alter everything at once: work, finances, mobility, family life, and a person’s sense of normalcy. In that situation, clients deserve counsel who understands both the legal case and the human reality underneath it. Hodges Law takes that responsibility seriously. The goal is not simply to process a claim, but to guide a client through a difficult chapter with skill, honesty, and resolve.

What clients can expect from Hodges Law is straightforward: careful listening, honest guidance, and strong advocacy. Not every case is simple. Not every answer comes immediately. But clients should always know that their lawyer is paying attention, thinking hard, and preparing thoroughly. They should feel informed rather than confused, respected rather than managed, and represented rather than processed.

The firm values preparation because preparation wins cases. It values clear communication because clients should not have to decode legal jargon to understand what is happening in their own matter. And it values trust, because the attorney-client relationship works best when clients know their lawyer is candid with them, even when the conversation is difficult.

There is also a broader idea behind the work done at Hodges Law. The civil justice system, at its best, is one of the ways ordinary people can stand on equal footing with powerful interests. It is where facts matter, where accountability can be demanded, and where wrongs can be addressed in a structured and meaningful way. Representing clients in that system is a serious responsibility, and Hodges Law approaches it that way.

This is not a firm built to be the biggest. It is built to be excellent. It is built to be thoughtful. It is built to fight when fighting is necessary and to counsel wisely when judgment is required. Most of all, it is built to serve clients well.

If you are facing a serious dispute, dealing with the consequences of a defective product, or trying to recover after an injury caused by someone else’s negligence, Hodges Law is ready to help.

Because every case has a story behind it. Every client has something important at stake. And every matter deserves serious, capable, and committed representation.

The attorneys did an excellent job of articulating the legal language of the case. It was a learning process for me that required patience and trust. I can’t thank Spiggle Law & Clay Hodges enough. I’m grateful for other firms saying “no” to me in the process because many of them did not have the...

Clay Hodges Starts His Own Firm: Hodges Law, PLLC

After more than twenty-one years at Harris Sarratt & Hodges, LLP, I made the move to start my own law firm: Hodges Law, PLLC. I had a great run at HSH, and I learned so much about practicing law from my law partners and from staff, but it was time for this new challenge. I…

The US Supreme Court to Hear Important Roundup Case

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case that could fundamentally reshape one of the largest mass-tort litigations in American history: the lawsuits alleging that Roundup, the widely used weed-killer, causes cancer. Roundup has been on the market since the 1970s and became a staple of modern agriculture and home gardening. Its active…
